The workshop was held on 1-2 July 2015 in our institute. The chief soil scintist, the director of Urban Environment Institute CAS, Yongguan Zhu, the director of Nanjing Institute of Soil Science Renfang Shen, the director Xingguo Han and party secretary Lanzhu Ji of IAE,CAS , vice director of Bureau of Frontier Science and Education, CAS  Xiaonan Duan, Prof Yu Song from Beijing University, related specialists and other research workers, totally 60 persons attended.

 The meeting was conducted by Prof Yongguan Zhu,. He introduced the CAS meeting on 15 June for the type B pilot projects, conveied CAS President Chunli Bai’s speech on that meeting , made comparisons on advancement among pilot projects in  mathematics, geo-science and bioscience and pointed out the orintation of the Microbiology special pilot project. Then, Xiaonan Duan, the vice director of Bureau of Frontier Science and Education, CAS introduced the background of developing the special pilot projects in CAS and the advancement for related work.

Prof Yu Song from Beijing University, invited by the special project, gave seminar on  ammonia emission in China. Prof Xiaoyuan Yan and Prof Yunting Fang from CAS reported research on soil ammonia emission and application of stable isotop in ammonia emission measurement, respectively. Then, the extent, sources and methods of the detection were wormly idscussed by the attendants.

Scientists responsible for the 4 subprojects introduced their research development, possible breakthrough ahead, problems and dificulties. The  attendants made warm discussions on research content，key direction for breakthrough and how to make joint research.

The chieve scintist of the project Yongguan Zhu summarised the meeting. He gave high evaluations to the achievements of the meeting  and hope the practice go foward. Joint research was encouraged among sub-projects so as to form key point breakthrough. Suprojects are encouraged jointly tackle the key problems, put foward new angle of view and new tech, clearly defined the key point, form feasible rout chart, strenthen international cooperation, internationalize the research team, protrude the feature of the special project, drive the development of the research field.
