On 29-30 August 2016, The president and secretary, party leadership group of CAS BAI Chunli visited Erguna Forest-Grassland Ecotone Ecosystem Research Station, expressed sympathy and solicitude to the workers on the station and made investigation to the research advancement in the station.

At the evening of 29 August, the group led by President Bai came in the station, made an excursion to the park construction and discussions with the young workers and graduate students. He encouraged them to take full advantage of the station in permanent plots and controlled experiments, work hard aiming to original innovation and major breakthrough.

In the rap session in the morning of 30 August, President Bai gave sympathy goods to the station and sent regards to the workers and students on behalf of party leadership group of CAS. JI Lanzhu, the director of IAE reported the development and planning of 13th Five Year Plan, the plan and development in the work related to the technology and demonstration in the preservation and restoration and high-efficient use of Northeast forest barrier zone, technology integration and demonstration of fertility maintenance, fertilizer reduction and fertilizer efficiency increase for Northeast Chernozem（black soil） and technology and its demonstration for water/soil pollution mechanisms and high-efficiency restoration in old Northeast industrial base. The honorary director of the station, Prof HAN Xingguo reported the work advancement, major achievements and current problems of the station, introduced the significance of the station to improve the overall arrangement of China’ ecosystem research station network and promote agriculture/husbandry development in Inner-Mongolia. The mayor of Erguna city Ajinle congratulated the achievements of the station and expressed that the local authority would support the work of the station in future as before and hope that the station would contribute more to the ecological construction and economic development of Erguna city.

The president made 3 requests to the construction of field research stations: 1) deeply carry forward data sharing among research stations, take big plan and big project as driving force, dig and integrate existed data through data standardization and unification, work hard for production of major achievements.2) Further improve means of data gathering, fully using new technology in related discipline field, excavate new ways to gather data and raise work efficiency. 3) Actively develop work for science popularization, fully using the advantage of field stations as research platform, construct base for both science popularization and patriotism education. He hoped that IAE and Ergana station actively join the construction of CAS grass and animal husbandry experiment area and write papers on the field of motherland.

After the rap session，The president inspected experiment plots in the station, asked the goal, significance and primary results. He supposed the experiment would have important significance in prediction the impact of global changes and in the development of grass and animal husbandry in Hulunbeier grassland and even further, in the whole country. He encouraged the station contribute more to the development of ecological science and the development of grass and animal husbandry of China.

The director of General Office QIAO Junlu, the director YAN Qing and vice director DUAN Ziyuan of Bureau Science and Technology for Development, the director of Bureau of Science Communication ZHOU Dejin from CAS, the director of Shenyang Branch CAS HAN Enhou, the vice director of Beijing Branch LI Jing, the director of IAE, the mayor of Erguna City and related local leaders jointed the activities.
