On 15-16 December 2016, the seminar was held in IAE and organized by research groups of Soil Chemistry and Ecological Stoichiometry in IAE. Scientists from Institute of Botany, CAS, Northeast Normal University, Shenyang Normal University, Institute of Tillage and Cultivation, Institute of Plant Nutrition and Environmental Resources in Liaoning Agricultural Academy, Dalian University for Nationalities, Heilongjiang Ba-yi Land Reclamation University and IAE presented, including Prof HAN Xingguo, Prof HUANG Jianhei, Prof GAO Yingzhi, Prof BAO Yajing, Prof LI Zhenghai, Prof ZHENG Guo, Prof CHEN Lijun, Prof JIANG Yong, Prof WANG Zhenwen. The seminar was co-conducted by Prof WANG Zhengwen, LV Xiaotao and Associate Prof XU Zhuwen. The subjects were environmental changes, grassland degradation process and mechanisms and management measures. Forty three reports were presented to discuss the subjects of process and mechanisms related to grassland ecosystems on various scales from the view points of plant, animal, microorganism and soil.

After oral presentations, Prof HAN Xingguo summarized and evaluated the content. Other specialists also highly evaluated the seminar. The seminar provided a platform for the research workers to exchange their ideas and also a valuabe chance for graduated students to study.
