BIAN Dongju, female, born in Benxi, Liaoning Province in November 1980. Doctor of Science, Master’s Supervisor, Associate Research Fellow. Member of the Aquatic Insects Committee of the Entomological Society of China, Director of the Zoological Society of Liaoning Province, and former Executive Director of the Entomological Society of Liaoning Province.
Her research mainly focuses on the taxonomy, biodiversity and phylogeny of aquatic Coleoptera. She was awarded “Advanced Worker” of the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010 and 2012. In 2021, She was selected as “Young Top Talent” of Liaoning Revitalization Talent Program. She has presided over 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of the Liaoning Revitalization Talents Program, 1 project for Taxonomist of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and 1 project for Capacity Building of Strategic Biological Resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
To date, she has discovered and described more than 64 new species of aquatic Coleoptera and published over 50 SCI papers.
