Resume
Wang Zhengwen, male, Ph.D., was born in October 1969 in Heze City, Shandong Province. He is currently a research professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and serves as the Director of the Erguna Forest-Steppe Ecotone Ecosystem Research Station, CAS. He is also a council member of the Chinese Grassland Society and Chairman of the Grassland Protection Innovation Alliance for Agro-Pastoral Ecotone. His primary research areas include grassland ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, plant community ecology, desertification control, and restoration of degraded ecosystems. He has published over 100 papers (and books) in leading domestic and international academic journals. He has led six General Projects and one Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Special Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, one Major Science and Technology Project of Liaoning Province, and over ten additional projects including sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program (formerly the 973 Program), sub-projects of the CAS Pioneer Program, and international collaborative projects. In 2023, he was honored with the title of Leading Talent under Liaoning Province's "Xingliao Talent Plan". In the same year, he led the team that was recognized as the "Systematic Ecological Restoration Innovation Team for Mountains, Rivers, Forests, Farmlands, Lakes, Grasslands, and Deserts" by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
