Resume
MA Qiang, male, born in July 1978 in Anshan, Liaoning Province, holds a Ph.D. degree and is a professor, deputy director of the Research Center for Soil Ecology and Agricultural Eco-engineering, and Secretary-General of the Liaoning Soil Society. He mainly studies nutrient and water cycling in agroecosystems and soil fertility management. He has made innovative contributions in material cycling and use efficiency in cropland, evaluation and spatial variation of black-soil fertility quality, yield prediction and yield stability analysis for dryland crops, effects of water–fertilizer interactions on crop yields, regional fluctuations in atmospheric aridity and estimation of precipitation assurance rates for high-yield maize, and nitrogen conservation and supply mechanisms governed by biotic and abiotic soil processes. His work has provided theoretical references and technical support for agricultural development in Liaoning Province and the southern black-soil region of Northeast China. He has led more than 10 projects, including key regional joint funds, general and young scientists projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, subprojects of the National Key Technology Support Program, subprojects of the CAS Strategic Priority Research Program, and Liaoning provincial basic R&D projects. He has published 133 papers, including 55 SCI papers (24 as first or corresponding author), 78 EI and Chinese core-journal papers, co-authored two monographs, and obtained five authorized invention patents. He received the Second Prize of the Shennong Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Award in 2019, the Second Prize of the 11th Soil Science Society of China Science and Technology Award in 2016, and the Liaoning Award for New Scientific and Technological Achievements in Soil and Fertilizer in 2021.
