On August 27, 2018, at the invitation of Prof. LI Qi from the Soil Ecology Group of the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Martijn Bezemer of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology made an academic visit to the Erguna Forest-Steppe Ecotone Research Station (hereinafter referred to as Erguna Station).
On the afternoon of August 27th, Prof. Bezemer visited and examined the experimental plots of Erguna Station, including the Nitrogen Addition Experimental Plots, the Global Change Multi-Factor Experimental Plots, the Carbon-Nitrogen Coupling Manipulation Plots and the Mowing Experimental Plots. Associate Professor YU Jun informed Prof. Bezemer of the Soil Transplant Experiment they had conducted on degraded grassland ecosystem.
During academic discussions with researchers of Erguna Station, Professor Bezemer praised the Soil Transplant Experiment. He said that he was impressed with the long-term control experiments as well as the Global Change Experiment of the station. The two sides also held in-depth discussions on cooperation in the future.
