On 30 August-1 September 2015 the seminar was held in Shenyang. The seminar was hosted by IAE, CAS, National Key Lab of Forest and Soil Science, Liaoning Soil Science Society, Shenyang Agricultural University, Liaoning Agricultural Institute and Liaoning Soil and Fertilizer Master Station. Forty one institutions and 200 persons attended.

The opening ceremony was conducted by Prof Xudong Zhang from IAE. The opening speech was given by the director of Soil Chemistry Professional Committee, Prof Qiaoyun Huang from Shenyang Agricultural University. The board chairman of Soil Science Society of China, Prof Minggang Xu from Institute of Agricultural Resources and regionalization, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science gave speech. Prof Lanzhu Ji, the director of IAE addressed welcome to the attendants. Prof Zucong Cai from Nanjing Normal University, Prof Yongguan Zhu  from Institute of Urban Environment, CAS and Prof Fangbai Li from Guangdong Institute of Eco-Environment and Soil Science were present on the ceremony.

The year 2015 is International Soil Year. The slogan for the year is Healthy Soil brings Healthy Life. The subject of the seminar is development of modern soil chemistry and eco-systemic functions of soil. The advancement in the field of multi-component interactions of soil and interface process of nanometer particles, eco-systemic functions of soil organic matter and soil mineral substances, soil chemical process and environmental effect of chemical elements, soil nitrogen cycling and global changes, soil chemical process and regulation of pollutants were reported and discussed on the seminar.

The Soil Chemistry Professional Committee of Soil Science Society held a meeting, summarized the seminar, discussed the affairs in the future.

The closing ceremony was conducted by Prof Hongbo He from our institute. Specialists presented awards to the outstanding graduate students for their reports to the graduate student forum. Prof Qiaoyun Huang gave closing remarks. He confirmed and highly evaluated the level of the reports on the seminar, appreciated the attendants, hope to diversify the coming academic exchanges and cooperate with other professional Committees for better effect of the exchange. He appreciated to the work and contributions to the business group of the meeting.
