According to the goal of 13th Five Year Plan for the key lab, 3 across discipline innovative groups were formed in March 2017 by 18 young (under 40) workers after voluntary association, application, peer evaluation and defense, aiming to make breakthrough in scientific difficulties, train backbone young workers and strengthen across disciplinary cooperation. One and 0.2 millions RMB were founded from the lab to the groups. The group members often got together to have discussions, created dense academic atmosphere and cooperative spirit.

After a year, they have published 16 SCI papers in Nature Chemical biology, Environmental Science and Technology, Bioresource Technology and so on and an invention patent was licensed.
