On May 14, the Institute of Applied Ecology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAE, CAS), and Xin’ao Petroleum Technical Service Co., Ltd. of Karamay City, Xinjiang Province (referred to as ‘Xin’ao Co., Ltd.’ hereinafter), signed a S&T cooperation agreement, aiming to collaborate to apply for S&T programs, establish Practice Base for graduate students and to reinforce personnel training.
ZHUO Junchen, the head of the S&T Division of IAE, FU Bin, the head of the graduate student division, Prof. ZHANG Ying, the head of the Research Group of Microbial Ecology and Technology, YAN Lijun, the deputy secretary-general of Karamay City, JIANG Ping, the deputy director of S&T Bureau, CHANG Hong, the deputy director of Environmental Protection Bureau of Karamay, attended the signing ceremony.
Before the ceremony, ZHUO Junchen introduced the history, achievements, scientist team and research directions of the institute, highlighting the achievements in microbial enhanced oil recovery and oil pollution control. ZHUO stated that IAE’s scientists would contribute to the environmental protection of Karamay by providing technical support to petroleum-related enterprises. DONG Ding, the general manager of Xin’ao Co., Ltd., said that the company is eager to strengthen cooperation and exchange with IAE. FU Bin gave a talk on IAE’s graduate student team.
