The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has officially approved to set up its Green Fertilizer Engineering Laboratory (Laboratory Code: GC201907-03). As a part of the scientific & technological innovation framework of CAS, the establishment of this laboratory may accelerate the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, improve the ability of engineering R&D of fertilizers, promote technological breakthroughs and industrial transformation and upgrade, and promote local economic development.
The Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) of CAS, the leading institute of the laboratory, will collaborate with three companies, including Stanley Agricultural Group Co., Ltd., Liaoning Shikefeng New Fertilizer Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Zhongke New Fertilizer Co., Ltd., to built up the new laboratory on the basis of some existing infrastructures and facilities in Liaoning province such as Liaoning Provincial Fertilizer Engineering Technology Center and Shenyang Municipal New Fertilizer Research & Promotion Center. The build-up period of the laboratory is three years, and the yearly operating budget is 1.5 million.
The core task of the laboratory is to solve technical problems commonly found during the transformation process of green fertilizer industry in China, involving the lab-scale research and test of fertilizer products, the pilot-test and business incubation, and the large-scale production and application.
The approval of the Green Fertilizer Engineering Laboratory will maintain IAE's leading position in the field of new-fertilizer research and will strengthen IAE's influential position in new-fertilizer industrialization and promotion.
