On the morning of July 9, YANG Hong, head of the Agricultural Mechanization Division of the Liaoning Provincial Modern Agricultural Production Base Construction Engineering Center, paid a visit to the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), Chinese Academy of Sciences at its Yunong Road Campus located in Shenbei New District, Shenyang.

FANG Yunting, deputy director of IAE, LIU Li, division head of the Science and Technology Department of IAE, and Prof. ZHANG Xudong held a cordial exchange with the visitors. FANG Yunting delivered a short welcome speech on behalf of IAE.

YANG Hong then visited the Agricultural Product Safety and Environmental Quality Testing Center of IAE. After that, the two sides had a discussion on the conservation tillage practice in Liaoning Province.

Prof. ZHANG Xudong gave a talk entitled 'The Significance and Role of Conservation Tillage in Liaoning Province'. He elucidated the current situation of black soil degradation, the background of conservation tillage implementation, key techniques and related problems. He also explained the importance to implement conservation tillage, for example, its significance for developing sustainable agriculture in Liaoning Province.

LIU Li introduced the research-related work of the institute to the visitors. YANG Hong, on behalf of the Construction Engineering Center, expressed an intention to continue in-depth exchanges and cooperation with IAE.
