The Shenyang Science and Technology Association recently announced the results of the 9th Shenyang Role Model Selection and Commendation Activity entitled "Respect for Labor, Respect for Knowledge, Respect for Talents, Respect for Creation". The Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, (IAE) was commended as one of ten "Model groups". 

The selection and commendation of model individuals and groups aim to implement the decision of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi's important instruction on technological innovation and talent work, and to implement the spirit of the 13th Plenary Session of the 13th Shenyang Municipal Party Committee: "Innovation plays a central role in speeding up the development of revitalization of Shenyang." 

The selection and commendation is held every 3 years and has been held for 9 consecutive sessions. It mainly commends model groups, advanced leaders and advanced workers that have made outstanding contributions in scientific research, talent introduction and cultivation, system and mechanism innovation, and social and economic development of Shenyang.
