On the afternoon of May 18, Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, and Yang Honggao, secretary-general of the Municipal Government, accompanied by Zhou Lizhi, secretary of the Huitong County Party Committee, visited the Huitong Forest Ecosystem Observation and Research Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences. 

Li Chunqiu and others visited the laboratories of Huitong Station, inspected facilities under construction, listened to the report on the station's ecological research and monitoring service work, and learned about the living and working conditions at the station as well as the preparation of the Hunan Provincial Forest By-products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the construction of which is participated in by Huitong Station. 

Li Chunqiu said, "we must make good use of ecological resources and forestry resources in Huirtong, transform the advantages of resources into advantages in industrial development, and achieve "super" development through ecological industrialisation; we must attract more companies to settle down in Huitong to promote harmonious development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries; and we must put emphasis on local leading industries such as tea, konjac, and bamboo, strive for building more number of famous brands, promote the establishment of a green agricultural product supply chain, and keep on advancing the competitiveness and risk-resistance ability of the product market." He hopes that the Huitong Station and the Supervision and Inspection Center will give full play to their unique advantages and provide a powerful boost to Huitong's industrial upgrades and overall development.
