On the morning of December 30, 2021, the third meeting of the first council of the Green Fertilizer Engineering Laboratory (GFEL) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the third meeting of the academic committee of GFEL were held in Shenyang. Wang Xugao, Head of the Science and Technology Division of the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), CAS, presided at the meeting. 

More than 30 people attended the meeting, including Prof. Zhu Jiaojun, director of IAE, Prof. Ji Lanzhu, chairman of International Scientific Centre of Fertilizers, Sun Zhanxiang, vice director of Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Wang Shenqiang, Nanjing Institute of Soil Sciences of the CAS, Prof. Liu Zhaohui, vice director of Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Wang Lichun, director of Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Prof. Zeng Xibai of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.  

Prof. Zhu Jiaojun, director of IAE and chairman of the Council of GFEL Advisers, delivered an opening speech, and expressed his gratitude to experts participating in the meeting. He also said that IAE would fully support the construction of the laboratory. 

Then, Wei Zhanbo, Deputy Head of the laboratory, made a report concerning the laboratory's progress from the past year, such as project and funding overview, research results, and new product and core technology development. 

Experts fully affirmed GFEL's work progress, and put forward guiding suggestions on how to promote its development. By attending this meeting, GFEL members made clear that what are the priorities in the development of the laboratory, which will lay a solid foundation for GFEL's next stage of work.
