Party Day Event Organized at Shenyang Demonstration Zone of Black Soil & Granary Project

On February 28, 2022, the temporary party branch of the Shenyang Demonstration Zone of the Black Soil Conservation and Utilization Technology Innovation Project (Black Soil & Granary Project) organized a Party Day event at the "Anti-wind Erosion, Water-saving High-Efficiency Agriculture Model" demonstration area located in Fumeng County, Fuxin City. The Party Day event, with the theme of "Developing Agriculture with Science and Technology & Making Preparations for Spring Ploughing," contained two activities: first, the plaque unveiling ceremony of the Anti-wind Erosion Agriculture Model Fuxin Demonstration Zone, and second, the field trip to the experimental plots.

The event was presided over by Prof. Zhang Lili, the person in charge of the Shenyang Demonstration Zone. Members of the temporary party branch included Prof. Wu Zhijie, Prof. Yin Guanghua, Senior Engineer Wei Zhanbo, etc. Zhang Wenyuan and Liu Yang, deputy mayors of Fumeng County, Wang Lina, CPC Party Secretary of the Modern Agricultural Development Service Center of Liaoning, Sun Zhanxiang, deputy director of the Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences (AAS), deputy director (Zhang Zhe) and researchers (Hou Zhiyan; Feng Chen) from the Cultivation Institute, and other members of the cooperative project were invited to participate in the activity.

The unveiling ceremony marks the start of the tripartite strategic cooperation between Fumeng County, AAS and the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for wind erosion control in northwestern Liaoning. The members of the temporary party branch expressed their resolutions to overcome difficulties to promote the implementation of the Black Soil & Granary scientific and technological project.

After the meeting, the agricultural team visited Getaiji Village, Guanyingzi Village, Taoli Village, Shazalan Village and Zhujiawazi Village to select experimental plots and to inspect the preparations for spring ploughing. The agricultural team discussed conservation tillage and corn-soybean intercropping with representatives of local companies and agricultural cooperatives, and listened to their requests. The agricultural team then came up with ideas and solutions for issues such as lacking enough seeding machines.

The Party Day event promoted the cooperative relationship between the agricultural team and its cooperative members, and provided a strong organizational guarantee for the Black Soil & Granary scientific and technological project.
