IAE Holds Seminar Discussing Implementation Plans of Project "Degraded Black Soil Fertility Restoration and Productivity Improvement in Shenyang Demonstration Zone"

On March 17, 2022, a seminar for discussing implementation plans of the project "Degraded Black Soil Fertility Restoration and Productivity Improvement in Shenyang Demonstration Zone" was held at the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The project is a subproject of a Strategic Priority Research Program of CAS.

More than 30 people including Fang Yunting, deputy director of IAE, the invited experts for consulting (Professors Jiang Ming, Jia Zhongjun, Ouyang Zhu, Wu Zhijie, Liu Xiaojing, Wang Lichun, Zhou Baoku, He Xingyuan, Han Xiaozeng, Liao Xiaoyong and Sun Zhanxiang, etc), and researchers working with the project attended the seminar.

Prof. Zhang Lili, the principle investigator in charge of the project conducted in Shenyang Demonstration Zone, presided at the seminar. The seminar was held in Offline and Live Streaming mode.

At the beginning of the seminar, Fang Yunting, on behalf of the leading institute of the project, expressed his sincere welcome to the experts' visit. After the chief scientist of the higher-grade project Jiang Ming gave an overall introduction to the project, researchers in charge of sub-projects gave reports concerning different soil conservation and utilization Models. All these Models will be tested in different demonstration zones. Consequently, the invited experts for consulting gave their comments and advice concerning the implementation plans and technical propaganda strategies. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Zhang Lili summarized the meeting and made it clear that the expert opinions would be well considered.

The convening of this meeting strengthened the exchanges between research teams of the project, further clarified their respective research directions and work priorities, which laid a solid foundation for the researchers to achieve more scientific outcomes.
