On July 27, 2022, five guests from Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research (ICZ) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) of CAS, including Guo Xiuyin, Secretary of the Party Committee of ICZ, Wei Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ICZ, Han Guangxuan, Deputy Director of ICZ, Zou Tao and Pang Haochen, Deputy Heads of the Science and Technology Division of ICZ.

Zhu Jiaojun, director of IAE, extended a warm welcome to the guests. He said that ICZ and IAE are both institutes in the field of resources and environment, and the two institutes have solid foundation and strong advantages for cooperation and common development.

Guo Xiuyin thanked for IAE's warm reception and said that the purpose of the visit was to learn from IAE's successful experience and to strengthen communication with IAE to promote the scientific and technological innovation and development of ICZ.

Wang Xugao told the guests about IAE's basic information, including its history, discipline layouts, S&T achievements and development plans during the 14th Five-Year period.

Zou Tao gave an introduction of ICZ's basic situation, focusing on the institute culture of "crossing boundaries and creating value together," the discipline development of ICZ, the construction of field stations, and the major S&T progress made during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

The two sides then had in-depth exchanges on the application for  major national S&T projects and key laboratories, the transformation of S&T achievements, and the personnel recruitment and training.

Afterwards, the guests visited the Northeast China Herbarium, the Key Laboratory of Conservation Tillage and Ecological Agriculture, the Key Laboratory of Super Antigen Research, the Key Laboratory of Environmental Big Data and Smart Environment, etc.

The exchange activity deepened friendship between the two institutes and laid a solid foundation for further cooperation.
