Release Time:2022-10-08 Big Small

From August 26 to 29, 2022, the 21st Ecology Conference of China was held in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. The theme of this conference was "New Mission of Ecological Science: Carbon Neutrality and Ecological Construction".

There were 10 plenary talks and 50 parallel sessions. Prof. ZHU Jiaojun and Dr. GAO Tian from the Institute of Applied Ecology of the  Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) were the organizers of the parallel session "Forest Ecology and Management - Forest Ecosystem Carbon Sink Measurement, Formation and Maintenance Mechanisms".

The Forest Ecology and Management parallel session included 13 oral presentations this year. Prof. Zhu Jiaojun, researcher Hao Guangyou, Prof. Yang Wanqin and Prof. Zhu Biao made keynote talks on "carbon neutrality goals and forest ecosystem carbon sink", "physiological mechanism of carbon sink formation of living trees in typical temperate forests in China", "effects of wind and snow on forest litter decomposition", and "root functional traits in relation to forest carbon cycle process", respectively. Dr. Gao Tian gave a talk entitled "complex terrain wind pattern and its influence on Eddy flux observation."

Since the 17th Ecology Conference of China in 2018, IAE has been organizing the Forest Ecology and Management parallel session. This parallel session focuses on the major needs of the national ecological civilization construction such as ecosystem carbon sink, ecological security shields and biodiversity conservation, and it has become an important exchange and cooperation platform for forest researchers and ecologists.
