Ecological Process Ranks Among the Top in Ecology

Ecological Process, an international journal on ecology, has achieved a high ranking among its peers, according to the latest citation reports.

Ecological Process, sponsored by the Institute of Applied Ecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAE, CAS), has an impact factor of 4.8, according to the 2022 Journal Citation Report (JCR) released by Clarivate Analytics on June 28, 2023. This places it 36th out of 169 ecological journals indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI), and in the top quartile (Q1) in the field of ecology.

The journal also has a CiteScore of 6.8, according to the index released by Scopus on June 6, 2023. This ranks it in the top 13% of ecological journals, and also in the Q1 area.

The editorial board of Ecological Process expressed gratitude to the editors, reviewers, authors and readers for their contributions and support. 

Ecological Process aims to publish innovative research on the processes and mechanisms that drive ecosystem structure and function, promote the understanding of ecosystem sustainability, and provide scientific and technological support for ecosystem management.

Ecological Process was established in 2012 as an open-access journal published by Springer. The current chief editors are ZHU Jiaojun and CHEN Jiquan. The journal has been included in more than 10 databases such as SCI, Scopus, EI, and CSCD. In 2020, it was selected as a high-starting new publication project of the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.
