On the afternoon of June 8th, 2018, ZHU Jiaojun, the director and professor of the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Gyeoghak Lee of the National Institute of Forest Science (NiFoS) of South Korea, formally signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) respectively on behalf of the two institutes.

On June 7th, a delegation of more than 70 scientists from the Youth Innovation Promotion Association (YIPA) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) and the Herbarium of Northeast China (HNC). The Party Secretary JIN Changjie, and the deputy director of the Personnel Division YE Hanfeng at the IAE hosted the delegation. The welcome meeting was chaired by Prof. XI Fengming.

On May 16, thirty-one students and teachers of Wenhua Road Primary School of Shenyang visited Qingyuan Forest Ecosystem Research Station of the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE, CAS) and started their two-day camping trip there.

Invited by Prof. LIANG Chao and Prof. ZHANG Xudong of the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), James M. Tiedje, the member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, visited the IAE from May 20 to 22, 2018.

The Institute of Applied Ecology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAE, CAS) and Campbell Scientific Inc. (CSI) reached cooperation intention to co-establish Ker Joint Laboratory for monitoring forest fluxes of trace gases and isotope elements (referred to as ‘Ker Joint Lab’ hereinafter).

On May 14, the Institute of Applied Ecology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAE, CAS), and Xin’ao Petroleum Technical Service Co., Ltd. of Karamay City, Xinjiang Province (referred to as ‘Xin’ao Co., Ltd.’ hereinafter), signed a S&T cooperation agreement, aiming to collaborate to apply for S&T programs, establish Practice Base for graduate students and to reinforce personnel training.

The institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), CAS and the North China Pharmaceutical Group (NCPG) AINO Co., Ltd., signed a cooperation agreement on research and development of biofungicides.

In 2017, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and The Royal Society collected projects which would cooperate between researches from China and British.

The newly published data by Essential Science Indicators (ESI) showed that CAS institutes and Chinese Universities performed excellent.

The meeting was held on 18 March 2018 in Northeast Institute of Geography and Agro-ecology, CAS. The project was hosted by IAE.
