In 2012, Associate Professor HUANG Bin in research group of Agricultural Ecological Engineering, IAE wrote a patent Modified Activated Sludge-based Two-Compartment Treatment Method for Nitrate-Contaminated Drinking Water and the Device thereof.

On 12-13 January 2018, the state office for the management of the special water research project organized the check and acceptance meeting specialists.

On December 29, 2017, the National Standard for Stabilized Fertilizer was approved by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and National Standardization Management Committee and issued in National Standard Announcement 2017-32.

In concert with the middle-term Check and Acceptance 0f Featured Institute construction in Thirteenth Five Year Plan, the research center of Soil Ecology and Agricultural-Ecological Engineering, IAE sponsored a 2018 seminar to summarize the advancement in Soil nutrient cycling and fertilization technology for increase efficiency and reduce application of fertilizers.

On 6 December 2017 , theseminar was held in Shenyang . The seminar was hosted by Liaoning Association of Soil Science and co-organized by IAE CAS and Liaoning Soil and Fertilizer Station .The leaders and specialists from Soil and Fertilizer Stations of nine counties and trusteeship cultivation companies exchanged their experiences on the interrelations of new-type fertilizers and agricultural machinery , method of fertilization .This will benefit farmers and also change the mode of field cultivation and it is a great change in agricultural production .

On 7 - 8 October 2017 , the annual Seminar to summarize the advancement for the project that supported by CAS Pilot Project and hosted by the Institute of Soil Science ( ISS ) CAS was held in IAE . The vice director of IAE , Prof FANG Yunting .The chief scientist of the project , Prof HAN Xingguo from the Institute of Botany CAS , the principal Investigators Prof CHU Haiyan from ISS , Prof WANG Guanghua from Institute of Northeast Geography and Agro-Ecology CAS .

Invited by the CAS KeyLab of Forest Ecology and Management and accompanied by Prof FANG Yunting and Associate Prof XU Sheng , Prof FENG Zhaozhong from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences .After seminar , the two professors visited the ozone concentration warming system in the arboretum , exchanged ideas and expressed cooperation intention in long-term cooperation with IAE .
