On 6-7 March, 2018, the workshop was held in IAE. The workshop was hosted by the CAS Key Lab of Forest Ecology and Management. About 60 persons attended, including 20 well known scientists in the field of Nitrogen cycling coming from Kyoto University Japan, University of Puerto Rico USA, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Universities in China and Institutes in CAS.

According to the goal of 13th Five Year Plan for the key lab, 3 across discipline innovative groups were formed in March 2017 by 18 young (under 40) workers after voluntary association, application, peer evaluation and defense, aiming to make breakthrough in scientific difficulties, train backbone young workers and strengthen across disciplinary cooperation. One and 0.2 millions RMB were founded from the lab to the groups. The group members often got together to have discussions, created dense academic atmosphere and cooperative spirit.

In first issue 2018, CAS Bulletin introduced CAS Qingyuan Forest Ecosystem Research Station (Qingyuan Station).
