The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has officially approved to set up its Green Fertilizer Engineering Laboratory (Laboratory Code: GC201907-03). As a part of the scientific & technological innovation framework of CAS, the establishment of this laboratory may accelerate the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, improve the ability of engineering R&D of fertilizers, promote technological breakthroughs and industrial transformation and upgrade, and promote local economic development.

BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese researchers have developed a new method to estimate tree biomass in subtropical planted forests, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Northeast China is one of the most species diverse areas at the same latitude on Earth, and also an important area in the Two Barriers and Three Belts' Ecological Security Strategic Planning. There are four of the eight vegetation zones of China, including two endemic zones: cold-temperate coniferous forest zone and temperate coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest zone. The alpine tundra of Changbai Mountain, one of only two alpine tundra in China, is located here.

On October 12, 2019, Shenyang Key Laboratory of Superantigen Research (hereinafter referred to as the key laboratory) was formally established and the first academic committee meeting was held at the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 40 people including Academician LIU Changxiao from Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, all the key laboratory members, the academic committee members and graduate students, attended the meeting.

On October 5th, the editorial office of the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences got good news that Ecological Processes, the international journal affiliated with IAE, had been accepted for indexing in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and will receive its first Impact Factor in 2020. The papers will be indexed from 2017.

Founded in 1933, the International Scientific Centre of Fertilizers (i.e. Centre International des Engrais Chimiques, CIEC) is the oldest non-profit international scientific association in the field of fertilizers.

BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese researchers have disclosed that a species asynchrony, illustrating the difference in species reaction rates on external environment changes, was the determinant of the temporal stability of aboveground biomass in temperate forests.
